The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution in Banking Sector (CSALB) is an autonomous non-governmental, apolitical, non-profit, legal entity of public interest, established based on the Government Ordinance no. 38/2015 on the alternative settlement of disputes between consumers and merchants, transposing Directive 2013/11/EU on the alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes and amending Regulation (EC) no. 2006/2004 and Directive 2009/22/EC.
CSALB’s mission is to organize, manage and monitor the settlement, by alternative dispute resolution, of disputes between consumers and merchants whose activity is regulated, authorized and supervised/monitored by the National Bank of Romania, as well as branches of merchants performing banking operations in Romania.
The ADR procedures organized by CSALB take place out of court and consist in the intervention of a conciliator who, depending on the procedure chosen by the consumer, may propose or impose a solution on the parties. ADR procedures organized by CSALB are voluntary, independent, impartial, transparent, effective, fast and fair.
